Butex Admission Circular 2023-2024 | Result Download

The Bangladesh University of Textile Admission circular has been published. The butex circular 2023-2024 is for a 4-year long B.Sc. in Textile Engineering program for the session of 2023-24 academic year. From level 01, admission candidates are encouraged to apply to the butex for admission.

The result of butex admission test is published at, 14 March, 2024.

Butex admission eligible candidate list for writing exam has been published (22-2-2024).

Butex admission date and information

Admission Fees

Applicants have to apply online by paying a fee of Tk 300 (three hundred) and eligible candidates have to pay Tk 1000 (one thousand) to collect the admit card to participate in the written test.

Butex’s total admission fee is 1300 BDT. It is separated into two sections:

1. Initial Application Fees: 300 BDT
2. Butex Written Exam 2024 Fees: 1000 BDT

Admission candidates have to apply online by providing initial fees at 300 BDT. Then, for butex written exam, eligible candidates must provide the fee of 1000 BDT and collect the butex admit card.

Minimum Eligibility to appear in Entrance Test:

(a) The applicant must be a Bangladeshi by birth or by acquisition of citizenship.

(b) Applicant must have passed Secondary School Certificate/Dakhil/equivalent examination with a minimum GPA 4.50 on a scale of 5.00 in the grading system from any Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education/Madrasa Education Board/Board of Technical Education in Bangladesh or equivalent from foreign Board of Education. Must pass the exam with an equivalent grade.

(c) From the science department of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board/Madrasa Education Board/Technical Education Board held in 2023. S. C. Or its equivalent examination with a minimum GPA of 4.50 on a scale of 5.00 in the grading system in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English with a total of at least 18.50 grade points.

(d) The list of 7,200 (Seven Thousand Two Hundred) eligible candidates to participate in the written examination based on merit based on the total marks obtained in the Higher Secondary Examination in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry will be published on the University website and simultaneously notified through SMS. .

(e) If the candidate has passed GCE ‘O’ Level and GCE ‘A’ Level, he/she shall obtain ‘A’ grade in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English separately in GCE ‘O’ Level Examination to appear in the Entrance Examination. In the GCE ‘A’ level examination, ‘A’ grades must be obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics separately.

Candidate must have obtained GCE ‘A’ level results in 2023 or later. 1,000/-(one thousand) Taka in cash to the Finance and Accounts Office along with ‘O’ level and ‘A’ level examination registration card, mark sheet, and attested copy of the certificate to the Registrar of Bangladesh Textile University by 12/02/24 for obtaining Equivalence Certificate Must apply.

Butex Admission Test Application Process:

Admission candidates who wish to apply for the Bangladesh University of Textiles Admission Test must complete the application through SMS. He/she has to use a Teletalk prepaid sim card to send SMS for application. Let’s take a look at the application process through SMS:

Go to the message option and then type BUT <space> First three latter of your HSC board name <space> HSC Examination Roll <space> HSC passing year <space> First three latter of SSC board name <space> SSC examination roll <space> SSC passing year and send this message to 16222.

Exam Board short name: Dhaka (DHA), Chittagong (CHA), Dinajpur – DIN, Sylete (SYL), Jassor (JAS), Cumilla (CUM), Barishal (BAR), Maymensigh MYM, Madrasha (MAD), Karigri (TEC/ VOC), English medium (GCE)

After sending this message, if all the applicant’s details are correct and the applicant is eligible, the applicant’s consent will be sent by sending the applicant’s name, admission application fee, and a PIN in the return message. Then, the applicant has to send another message again to express his consent. The message will be as follows:

Type BUT <space> YES <space> Enter the PIN from the return message <space> Enter the Contact Number and then send this message to 16222.

As soon as the applicant sends the message above, the application fee [300 Taka] will be cut from his/her balance. If there is sufficient balance in the applicant’s Teletalk Prepaid SIM, the application fee will be cut, and the applicant’s user id and password will be notified through SMS.

Quota and Reserved Seats:

Quota and reserved seat candidates will have to appear in the entrance test as usual, and selection will be based on merit. A total of 10 seats will be reserved for 01 person in each category according to the order of merit and preference in freedom fighter quota, and 2 seats will be reserved according to the order of merit and preference in tribal quota.

Individual quota options while applying through SMS for reserved seats Must be mentioned. Otherwise, the applicant will not be entitled to the quota benefit. Qualified in admission test for reserved seats At the time of admission, in the case of tribal candidates, the tribal certificate from the competent authority and the original certificate issued as per government rules in case of freedom fighter quota and the attested copy must be submitted.

The specific quotas are freedom fighter quota and tribal quota (TQ). When applying, the candidate must mention the concerned quota. If the quota is not mentioned in the application, the quota application will not be considered later.

Upload photo and signature:

Applicant’s photo (length x width) 300×300 pixel and file size not more than 100 KB is recommended. Black and white photos are not acceptable. Signature (length x width) 300 x 80 pixel and file size not more than 60 KB is recommended.

Download Admit Card

You have to save the user ID and password given to you after applying for the written exam and submitting the fee. You must download the admit card using the user ID and password. Admit cards will be available on the butex.teletalk.com.bd website from 10 am 26.02.24 to 05.03.2024 11.59 am. You must browse the website and download the admit card during this period.

The written test will be held in accordance with the following rules:

(A) Written examination will be held in accordance with the syllabus of the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board of 2021.
(B) The question paper will be through both Bangla and English.
(C) No programmable calculator, border electronics device, smart clock, mobile or smart material can be kept and used during admission test. Calculators of the prescribed model can be used only on the university website.
(D) If an examiner adopts admission to the admission test, his exam will be considered canceled.

Written Exam Marks and Subjects:

Total 200 marks; Mathematics – 60, Physics- 60, Chemistry- 60 and English- 20.

The results of the admission test will be published on the University Notice Board and web site (www.butex.edu.bd).

Candidate selection:

The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the number obtained in the admission test and a maximum of 3 (3,000) candidates will be published. In the written test, the merit list will not be published in the written test (applicable to all with all quotas). However, the admission committee can change the 5% number and the specified number specified in real needs.

Selection of categories:

The category will be set by interview as per the candidate’s intellectual and preferences.

Special Instructions:

(a) On the day of the admission test, an original copy of the admission test admit card and HSC or equivalent examination registration card must be brought along. During the admission test, the candidate will be identified by matching the photo with the original registration card of the applicant’s HSC or equivalent examination and the application form. If any inconsistency is found, the candidate’s answer sheet will be rejected.

(d) The decision of the Admission Committee shall be final in any matter relating to admission.
