Lab dip: A lab dip is a dyed fabric sample made to meet the color standard of the designer.
It is generally developed in the color lab dyeing R & D (Research and development) section.
The purpose of a lab dip is to give a designer an idea of what the fabric will look like for manufacturing.
That’s why designers’ approval is necessary before bulk manufacturing takes place.
