Bleach wash is used to achieve a faded or old look effect in denim.
Recipe:
| Desizing M : L = 1 : 5 Desizing agent = 3 g / L Temp. = 60ºc Time = 20 min | Bleaching M : L = 1 :5 Caustic soda = 2 % ( PH 10 -11) H2O2 = 5ml/ L Soda ash = 2 % Stabilizer = 2.5ml/L Temp = 80 º c Time = 70mn | Neutralizing Acetic acid = 2ml/L Temp = room Time =5 min Softening Softener = 0.1 – 0.5% o.w.m. Temp = Room Time = 5 – 10 min |
The processing step of bleach wash are as:
1. Washing
Water and garment load

Add desizing agent
⬇️
Rise temp for 60o and continue to wash for 20 min.
⬇️
Drop liquor.
2. Bleaching:
Add water
⬇️
Bleaching chemical
⬇️
raise temp. for 800c and continue for 70 min.
⬇️
Drop the liquor.
3. Neutralizing:
Add water
⬇️
acetic acid
⬇️
continue to wash for 5 min.
4. Softening:
Add water,
⬇️
softener, wash for 5 – 10 mins.
⬇️
Drop liquor and unload garments
